AI training jobs for mathematicians: 72 open roles
Will AI replace mathematicians? Nobody can tell you that from a job list, and this page does not try. What the list shows: today 72 open roles on 7 platforms pay mathematicians to write, check and grade the work AI models attempt in their field.

Medians from each posting's own listed hourly rate, shown with 5 or more rates. The AI Training Pay Index has the same figures by platform and field.
Medians leave out 649 Meridial roles that list $8 to $65 or $6 to $65: a range the platform puts on most of its roles, not the pay of each one.
Meridial has the most roles for mathematicians, 26 of 72. 7 platforms hire for them in all.
What the open roles for mathematicians ask for
The titles that come back most are Mathematics specialist (25) and Mathematics expert (20). The rest have titles of their own, 29 different titles in all. By type of engagement: 69 contract and 3 part time.
6 of the 72 roles are open from anywhere. Where countries are named, the most common are India (20), United States (15), Malaysia (5) and Pakistan (5). 36 ask for a work language other than English.
By field, the roles sit mostly in STEM (71) and Coding (1).
What the roles list per hour
46 of the 72 roles list an hourly rate in US dollars. The median is $40 an hour, and the middle half runs from $26 to $56.
For every open AI training role the median is $50, so this group sits below it.
1 list no rate. Listed pay is what each platform shows on the role: it is not guaranteed pay, and a role is not an acceptance.
What the studies say
The US Bureau of Labor Statistics projects, for the closest occupation it counts, change in employment from 2025 to 2035: Mathematicians up 0.6% and Statisticians up 11.0% (Employment Projections, Table 1.2, published 27 August 2026). That is a different list from the roles above, which ask for mathematicians to help train AI models. The BLS warns that its numbers do not capture the uncertainty of predicting the future. The table is BLS Table 1.2. For the wider picture, see Will AI replace your job?, with the studies behind the video.
