Who runs Alignerr
The Alignerr home page is branded "Alignerr | Powered by Labelbox", which points to Labelbox as the company behind it. The page does not describe the relationship any further, and it does not say whether contributors are contractors or employees.
What its own site says
- Work: remote, flexible, "on your schedule", in four areas: audio, coding, general and STEM. The roles it shows include Data Labeling Specialist, Product Review Analyst, AI Data Quality Analyst, AI Ethics Reviewer, Image Description Specialist and Legal and Government Policy Analyst.
- Pay: the site cites an average of $80 an hour and shows $40 to $120 an hour for most listed roles, with $20 to $120 for image description and $20 to $40 for the legal and policy role. It says payment is weekly and does not name the method.
- Size: it says its network has over 100,000 experts.
- Not stated: eligible countries, contractor status, minimum hours and what happens between projects.
What workers report
On Trustpilot, alignerr.com had a TrustScore of 4.5 from 2,995 reviews when we checked on 22 October 2026: 82% gave five stars and 9% gave one star. The praise is for the AI interviewer, which reviewers call polite and conversational, and for a smooth, relevant interview. The complaints are slow customer support, some accounts closed unexpectedly after identity verification, and little explanation of platform decisions. The company has not replied to the negative reviews. Reviews are self-selected, so read them as a sign of what goes wrong, not as a count.
What workers report on Reddit
On r/alignerr, the questions that come up most are about waiting, removed accounts, missing pay and projects that do not appear. Each link below is one person's post, not a count of workers, and we cannot check the claims.
- Waiting after the assessment: a worker asks about priority onboarding (28 August 2026, 27 comments), another says they were added to a project and then heard nothing (13 September, 13 comments), and a third finished the assessment and got no reply (11 March, 4 comments).
- Removed accounts and unpaid hours: removed with no explanation (19 December 2025, 17 comments), and two workers who say they were removed with about 50 hours unpaid (31 July 2026) and more than 40 hours unpaid (5 August).
- Payments: a month without payment (13 June 2026), "does anyone actually get paid?" (30 September, 7 comments) and a payment stuck (9 December 2025, 15 comments).
- No projects: "No projects anymore?" (9 March 2026), a project that disappeared (16 January) and no projects for over two months (31 August).
The site says payment is weekly, and these posts are the other side of that claim. Keep your own record of hours and payment dates, and ask which hours are paid before you start.
Our review grid
Every platform on this site is judged on the same six points. A referral link, a sponsored place or a payment never changes a verdict.
- Good: the platform's own documents and the public reports we read agree.
- Mixed: the reports are split, or they differ from the documents.
- Poor: at least two public sources of different kinds, each dated, describe it as a repeated problem and none contradicts them. With one source, or one kind of source, it stays Mixed.
- No data: we read nothing that tells.
Reports are single posts and reviews by people who chose to write, not a count of workers. Each line names where it comes from and the day we read it. If you run this platform and a line is wrong or out of date, write to [email protected]: we correct it and put the date of the change.
| Point | Verdict | What we read | Sources and days read |
|---|---|---|---|
| Paid on time | Mixed | The site says it pays every week and does not name the method. Reddit posts report a month without payment (13 June 2026), a payment stuck (9 December 2025) and ask whether anyone gets paid (30 September 2026); single posts. | Alignerr home page, 2026-10-22; Reddit r/alignerr, 2026-10-22 |
| Pay shown clearly | Mixed | The site shows ranges per role, mostly $40 to $120 an hour, and an average of $80. They are the platform's own figures, with no minimum or guaranteed hours. | Alignerr home page, 2026-10-22 |
| Support | Poor | Trustpilot reviewers complain of slow customer support and the company has not replied to the negative reviews; Reddit posts ask how to contact support about unpaid hours. | Trustpilot, alignerr.com, 2026-10-22; Reddit r/alignerr, 2026-10-22 |
| Steady work | Mixed | The site states no minimum hours and says nothing about what happens between projects. Reddit posts report no projects for weeks or months, and a project that disappeared. | Alignerr home page, 2026-10-22; Reddit r/alignerr, January to September 2026, 2026-10-22 |
| Privacy and ID | Mixed | Some Trustpilot reviewers report accounts closed unexpectedly after identity verification. We read nothing about how Alignerr keeps that data. | Trustpilot, alignerr.com, 2026-10-22 |
| Public complaints | Mixed | Trustpilot shows 4.5 from 2,995 reviews, 82% five stars and 9% one star. The praise is for the AI interviewer; the complaints are slow support and closed accounts. | Trustpilot, alignerr.com, 2026-10-22 |
What to watch out for
- The $80 average and the $40 to $120 ranges are the platform's own claims, not what workers report earning: read them as advertising until you see a task rate in your own account.
- Signing up, or passing the interview, does not guarantee projects.
- Ask which hours are paid. Interview and onboarding time may not be.
- Keep a record of your hours, your rates and your payment dates.
- Do not buy, sell or hand over an account.
- Never pay to work. The US Federal Trade Commission advises walking away from anyone who asks for an upfront fee for a job.
Pay across platforms that publish their roles
Alignerr does not publish roles on a public board, so there is nothing of its own to chart. For context, this is the spread of every listed hourly rate on this site on 26 October 2026, across 2,900 open roles: the median is $50 and half of the rates sit between $24 and $85.
Share of roles in each $10 step of the hourly rate. $0 to $10: 7%, $10 to $20: 11%, $20 to $30: 13%, $30 to $40: 7%, $40 to $50: 10%, $50 to $60: 7%, $60 to $70: 13%, $70 to $80: 5%, $80 to $90: 4%, $90 to $100: 5%, $100 to $110: 5%, $110 to $120: 4%, $120 to $130: 2%, $130 to $140: 1%, $140 to $150: <1%, $150 or more: 8%. Median $50, middle half $24 to $85, from 1,613 rates.
