Who is behind Meridial
The footer of meridial.ai reads "© 2025 Invisible Technologies Inc.": Meridial is the contractor platform of Invisible Technologies, a company that supplies AI training data and services to AI labs.
- Founded: 2015, by Francis Pedraza, according to Invisible's own about page.
- Funding: the law firm Fenwick, which advised on the deal, reported a $100 million round for Invisible in September 2025, led by Vanara Capital.
- Status of workers: contributors work as independent contractors, not employees of Meridial.
How Meridial works
- Create a profile on meridial.ai.
- Pass a short confirmation step, then apply to the projects that match your skills.
- Sign a Statement of Work for each engagement. Rates are set per project, published for each engagement and confirmed before you begin.
- Get paid every two weeks, the payment cycle stated in the FAQ.
A profile lets you be matched to projects; the home page says Meridial does not guarantee project engagements. Questions go to [email protected], the address on its site.
What workers report
On Trustpilot, meridial.ai had a score of 1.5 out of 5 from 32 reviews when we checked, a small, self-selected sample. A review site that covers AI training platforms reports complaints about unpaid onboarding and uneven work volume. Meridial's site mentions no fee for workers.
What to watch out for
- Ask whether a step is paid. Get it in writing before you spend hours on an assessment or onboarding task.
- Check the posting date. Many Meridial roles were posted long ago (see the table below). A long-open role may be a standing pool of candidates rather than a seat on a live project.
- Plan as a contractor. There is no paid leave and no guaranteed hours, and you handle your own taxes where you live.
- Keep the terms you are given. We found no published terms page (meridial.ai/terms returned "not found" when we checked), so save every Statement of Work and every message about pay.
- Never pay to work. The US Federal Trade Commission advises walking away from anyone who asks for an upfront fee for a job.
What our daily list shows
This site reads Meridial's public job list every day.
| Meridial, as read by this site | Figure |
|---|---|
| Open roles on 26 October 2026 | 570 |
| Open roles with an hourly rate of their own | 54 |
| Median listed hourly rate | $23.25 |
| Middle half of listed hourly rates | $20 to $60 |
| Oldest posting date on an open role | 17 April 2025 |
| Half of the open roles were posted on or before | 21 August 2025 |
| Open roles that name an EU country or say worldwide | 301 |
| New roles, 20 to 26 October 2026 | 187 |
| Roles taken off the list in the same days | 0 |
Most Meridial roles carry the same platform-wide range ($8 to $65 or $6 to $65 an hour) instead of a rate for the role, so the median and the middle half above use only the roles with a rate of their own. 363 of the open Meridial roles are language roles, at the rates Meridial lists. The figures count roles posted and taken down; they do not show whether a role was filled or how many people a project takes on.
Should you apply to Meridial?
Yes, if you want project-based AI training work and can live with gaps between projects. Meridial is a funded company with a named parent, written contracts and a stated pay cycle. Apply through meridial.ai and keep a record of what you were told about pay.
